imageYuma Sung is born in the spring of 1989 in Silicon Valley of California (1 hour South of San Francisco), he is currently living in San Francisco. He loves music since he is born. He started learning Classic Piano since he was 6 years old, began his path on Jazz piano since 9 years old.
In the summer of 1998, he went to David Benoit's concert and was inspired. Since then, he has been a hostage of jazz music. He studied jazz music from 2 teachers, and is also taking lessions from CSMA(Community School of Music and Arts). Two years after he started on jazz piano, he won the first place in San Jose Jazz Contest. He also palyed with David Benoit in a concert during the same year. In 2002, he won the Best Composition Award in the 25th Composition Contest of Downbeat Magazine, Looking Up is the name of the tune. In the following year, 2003, he won the best soloist award from the same publication. In the same year, he released his first CD "Looking Up" in US. As part of his efforts to polish he music talents, he has also been teaching jazz piano to the youngsters in the San Jose Jazz Camp、 In 2004, when he came to Japan for a live concert, the recording of this CD in Japan was finalized. In July of 2005, he debut in Japan from the Jroom of Columbia Music Entertainment!
