Sue and Bob Larsen recently held a Cd release party for their 14-year-old
jazz pianist friend, Yuma Sung, a Community School of Music and
Arts merit scholar. The event, held at the Palo Alto Hills Country
Club, featured a performance by The Yuma Sung Jazz Trio, with Sung
at the piano. They played superb classical jazz music for 70 guests
and friends of CSMA. Sung's debut CD is titled, "Looking Up."
There was excitement and delight when David Benoit and his wife
came to support Sung. Benoit, a world-renowned jazz musician and
composer treated the guests to a surprise performance!
Benoit said, "I am very proud to have had a small role in
developing Sung's emerging career in jazz and hope that you will
enjoy this gifted young artist who I believe, is destined to become
one of the new fresh voices in jazz today."
Those interested in Sung's activities can view his Web site, www.websiteink.com/yuma/.
Also at the event, CSMA launched it's "Take a Seat" campaign,
an opportunity to permanently engrave a plaque on a chair at Silicon
Valley's first new regional 204-seat, state-of-the-art concert hall
of the Center for Music and Arts Education. For more information,
